The 2026 Rugby League World Cup is here!
Co-Hosts Australia kick off the tournament in Sydney, as they look to defend their hold on the Paul Barrière Trophy, after winning it all last time round in 2022, and are warm favourites to retain their title.
The Kangaroos have named a strong squad for the tournament, including recent NRL Premiership-winners James Tedesco & Sam Walker; the exciting young Reece Walsh, and Melbourne Storm’s Cam Munster.
The Kiwis are a close second favourites to win it all, and will be tough opponents for Australia. Lead by Sydney Roosters enforcer Naufahu Whyte and the superb fleet-footed fullback Kalyn Ponga; New Zealand rugby league has been growing in strength in recent years.
In a game that could be the dress rehearsal for the Grand Final, how much will each coach show of their hand, at the start of the tournament?
