The 2026/27 Summer of Cricket is here, with Australia hosting New Zealand in a three-Test series.

The Black Caps continue to rise as a force in modern cricket, recently winning their fourth-ever Test Series victory against England, in England. The Kiwis are without the magnificent Kane Williamson, who quietly hung up his bat mid-series (unlike Ben Stokes), but seem to continue producing elite talent; and will relish a chance to take on the Aussies this summer.

Australia might have better match-fitness than the Kiwis, after beginning their Summer in August against Bangladesh, before going to South Africa for a three-Test series, then hosting England for three ODIs and five T20s.

A Test Series against New Zealand in the peak of the Australian cricket calendar is rare; and will shine the world cricket spotlight on the two sides sitting high in the Test Championship standings.
